This tour which travels by way of the south coast, takes you past some of the most diverse and beautiful scenery in the country. Highlights include the beautiful waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, important glaciers such as Mýrdalsjökull, a great number of glacial rivers, black sands plains of volcanic ash.
Along the coastline, you will see many glacial tongues, the famous Eyfjallajökull volcano and Öræfajökull glacier, the highest peak in the country.
After a short stop in the small town of Vik, we continue eastwards, crossing many glacial rivers, through the Eldhraun lava field, past the beautiful village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Skaftafell National Park and then through the vast black sands of Skeiðarasandur.
Arriving at the stunning Jökulsárlón, you will have the option of either a boat tour on the lagoon or exploring the surrounding areas on foot. The region is rich in bird life and a main breeding ground of the Arctic tern and the Great Skua.
After lunch at the Jökulsárlón Visitor Centre, we head back the way we came, dropping you off at your hotel in Reykjavik.
