SOUTH & SOUTH WEST ICELAND:

On our Set Departure Photography Tours, Day 1 is a “gathering day” as participants will most likely be arriving in from various areas of the world (Europe, USA, Canada, etc.), at different times. A taxi will collect participants as they arrive at the airport. A very fine hotel has been selected for the first overnight, allowing a most comfortable start to the tour and an opportunity to meet with all participants.
At the end of Day 5, hotel accommodation will be arranged for everyone in a very good Reykjavik hotel. This allows participants to either fly out of Iceland the following day (all hotels offer coach transfer to the airport, at a small cost) or to add more time to their stay in Iceland.
Day 1: Arrival into Iceland; arranged transfer to accommodation in Keflavík. Evening meeting of participants.
Day 2:
Reykjanes Peninsula:
Gems of volcanic, geothermal and coastal landscapes on the Mid Atlantic Ridge plus colourful coastal communities, past and present, active and abandonned; overnight in Hvolsvöllur area accommodation.
Day 3:
South Iceland: Southern Edge:
Water in various forms dominate along the south coast (powerful rivers, waterfalls, icecaps, glaciers and mighty North Atlantic breakers) and also farmsteads, old and new; overnight in the same Hvolsvöllur area accommodation as last night.
Day 4:
South Iceland: Fljotshlid Valley:
This is one of the most beautiful valleys in Iceland, inland from Hvolsvöllur. The volcano and icecap of Eyjafjallajokull dominates the scene with rivers, waterfalls and canyons to explore and churches, farmsteads old and new, horses and “dereliction” subjects; overnight in Selfoss area accommodation.
Day 5:
South West IcelandThingvellir & Reykjavik:
The National Park and World Heritage Site of Thingvellir is a tectonic landscape, the result of the diverging North American and Eurasian crustal plates; intriguing fissures at all scales, moss covered lavas, huge skyscapes. The contrasting cityscapes of Reykjavík offer vibrant colours, old and new architecture, harbour scenes, etc.; overnight in Reykjavík accommodation when the TOUR ENDS.
