In 2021 we at GT Travel registered for the Clean & Safe project that the Icelandic Tourist Board launched. Participation in the project is a pledge to our customers that cleaning and infection control are done conscientiously and all the rules from authorities are followed. Being a part of the Clean & Safe project in 2021 went well throughout the year and now the Icelandic Tourist Board has decided to keep the project ongoing for 2022. We will be taking part in this project once again as we are eager to keep our commitment to make our customers feel safe while traveling with us.
On the Friday evening of 19th of March, the locals of town Grindavík noticed a very strong flare just northeast of town. An eruption had started in Geldingadalir valleys on the east side of Mt. Fagradalsfjall.
On 5. February 1965 this coach, Dodge Weapon year 1953, was redesigned as a coach. Guðmundur Tyrfingsson, the founder of GTS Ltd – GT Travel, owned that coach in the years 1964-1975. We first rebuilt it in 2009 and now we have renewed it again with new paint and makeover. On this day, exactly 56 years ago, it was first registered as a coach. The car is in perfect shape and ready after Covid-19.
We are delighted to learn that our newly published Geo-Site Guide, written as an option for our Geography School Tours to Iceland, has recently gained RECOMMENDED status from the Scottish Association of Geography Teachers (SAGT).
